Meet the Staff
Born in Norwich, CT, at age 9 Bill moved to South Florida where he lived for 25 years before sensing God calling him to return to his home state to be the planter and pastor of Calvary Fellowship in early 2005. Prior to that, Bill worked as an operations manager before entering vocational ministry to serve as the Director of Calvary House at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, and after that as the Administrative Pastor at Calvary Fellowship (Miramar, FL). Bill is a graduate of the Calvary Chapel Bible Institute. Bill and his wife Rebecca have been married for 20 years and have three lovely daughters. His own wild story of redemption and grace has been a major catalyst for his passion to share Jesus with others. Bill is a lover of stories in many forms, humor and rock & roll.
Operations and Ministry Assistant
Born and raised in Connecticut, Chip attended college right down the road from Calvary at CCSU. With a Bachelors Degree in Communication and a minor in Journalism, he had always been striving to find his “calling” in life. Enter Calvary! Chip found Calvary Fellowship in January 2006 and felt that it was a place he could truly feel God moving. He joined staff in June 2009. Some of his duties include service oversight/operations, membership, special events, and overseeing our building campaign “Multiply.” Chip is married to the love of his life Amanda and they currently reside in Farmington, CT with their two sons Christian and Thomas. In his spare time he serves as a volunteer firefighter in Farmington and plays slow pitch softball and old man Basketball as often as he can.
Accounting and Special Projects
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. After graduating, she worked in the accounting department of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale (a church of over 20,000 people) from 2000-2003 where she set up the accounting systems for the opening of Calvary Christian Academy, wrote the accounting department policy manual, and traveled as a liaison to other churches and Christian schools in need of accounting assistance. Since then, she has assisted numerous non-profits with their accounting needs. Currently, she provides the bookkeeping function for Calvary and also assists in special projects, quality control, and systems review. Rebecca loves being a mom, organization, and DIY projects.
While now living in New England, Nicholas is a native of old England. His family is from Birmingham which is in the center of the UK. After working at a University in London for five years as a Chemistry Professor, he had the opportunity to move over the Atlantic to join the faculty at the University of Connecticut. Nicholas and his wife Susan, a Tennessee native, live in Southington with their numerous squirrels and chipmunks. They have been a part of Calvary since 2006. Nicholas is involved in a number of leadership roles, including being the Serving Director, coordinating the teams of people who serve on a Sunday morning. He was ordained in 2019, and sometimes gets to put his teaching hat on; giving some Sunday morning messages.
Dave has led worship for the last 15 years as well as small group ministries, leadership development, discipleship and local outreach. His roles in local church have also included teaching, preaching, Pastoral care, and counseling. Currently, Dave serves as our Interim Worship Director but he keeps busy by working on his Master of Theology from Gordon Conwell and serving as Chaplain at The Master’s School. He met his wife, Elisabeth, 17 years ago and they have four children – Cash, Violet, Lydia and Annie. Music is David’s biggest passion and he runs a recording studio out of his home in Avon. A fun fact about David is that while he was playing in bands that traveled, he got to play 48 out of 50 states in the US as well as abroad in six different countries.
A Texan at heart, Crystal is excited to call the northeast home! She serves as the Communications Director for Calvary Fellowship. Prior to joining staff in 2016 she was a reporter for the local FOX station before she felt God calling her into ministry. In her spare time, you can find her curled up reading a good book, packing a picnic, dancing to the tune of good music, checking out a local coffee spot and enjoying life with her friends. Crystal serves as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, oversees a Nursing Home Ministry, as well as Calvary Women’s events. She is a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin (hook ’em!) with a degree in broadcast journalism. San Antonio will always hold a sweet spot in her heart. Say “hi” if you see her at church or around town!
Children’s Ministry Director
Fernie and her husband Steven hail from Texas but currently live in Connecticut as he pursues Dental School. She is a child welfare social worker and serves as Director of Calvary Kids at Calvary Fellowship. Fernie is passionate about making her workplace a mission field, particularly as she works with children who have experienced much trauma. She finds joy in being able to serve the orphans, the poor, and those in need for the glory of Christ. Fernie is passionate about encouraging other women to live lives that reflect the calling of our salvation and rejoicing in the hope we have in Christ. She also loves reading, writing, and sharing meals with people.
Director of Discipleship
Mark started at Calvary Fellowship in 2019 after retiring from the manufacturing world where he spent thirty plus years electrically designing and programming machines. He thanks God that during those years of hard work he had the blessing of simultaneously serving in ministry. Mark has served as a children’s and youth minister, usher, elder, prayer team lead, and taught Bible classes. He’s had the adventure of traveling on mission trips to Russia, Belarus and Latvia. All he can think is that God is so good, faithful, and that He can use anyone! Married to his wife and best friend Teri for 36 years, the two have three adult children and two huge Maine Coon cats. He loves people and deeply desires that they walk in the fullness of the part God has for them in the body of Christ.
